Led the country office in Tanzania, holding overall responsibility for all strategic planning, project implementation, and development of evaluation systems. As leader of Country Management Team, developed solutions to challenges that impact operations and output. Mentored and supervised colleagues to manage complex and uncertain situations with government agencies and partner organizations, with overarching goal of ensuring that policies were upheld, program goals were met, and external relationships were maintained. Led all budgeting and financial and contract management for the country office.

Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Spearheaded all NTD programming in Tanzania by leading strategic planning, project implementation, and development of monitoring and evaluation systems. Provided technical expertise in trachoma, behavior change, WASH interventions and collaborated closely with the Tanzanian Ministry of Health on planning, implementing, and monitoring of activites.

Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Developed and managed activities in close partnership with the Tanzanian Ministry of Health - Neglected Tropical Disease Control Program, with the goal of supporting implementing partners in their work for the elimination of blinding trachoma (trachomatous trichiasis). Ensured high quality surgical and programmatic outcomes as well as compliance to national guidelines and WHO protocols by managing quarterly review meetings, facilitating trainings and workshops, finalizing and implementing surgical audit procedures, and conducting supervision and verification visits in the field.

Mtwara, Tanzania

Consulted on health project logistics and planning, and translated Swahili to English, for NGOs and research institutions including: Aga Khan Foundation, German Organization for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University, and Wake Forest University.

Mtwara, Tanzania

Directed all on-site operations of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) providing trachomatous trichiasis (TT) eyelid surgery for 2000+ patients in rural Tanzania. Hired, trained, and supervised staff in their medical and administrative duties in surgery camps and offices. Coordinated all tasks for ongoing follow-up of all patients in rural villages, including managing follow-up staff. Supervised database management and data cleaning as well as maintaining integrity of ongoing data collection.

Newala And Moshi, Tanzania

Worked in partnership with local community and district government to identify opportunities to provide PEPFAR-supported HIV prevention and life skills education to young people and at-risk populations. Wrote and executed grants to train groups of people living with HIV/AIDS in the execution of local projects combining income-generation, improved gardening concepts, and improved nutrition. Extended service for third year to work at Mkombozi Centre for Street Children in Moshi; spearheaded HIV prevention and psychosocial support activities for vulnerable children living at residential center.

Recruited both youth & volunteers into mentoring program for teenagers transitioning out of foster care. Built relationships and networked with 20+ New York City foster care agencies to engage eligible teenagers. Planned and facilitated youth development workshops, career trips, and volunteer trainings.
