Working at the Littleton Preforming Arts Center was the first job I owned while being a three season high school athlete, thus equipping me with refined organization and time management skills. With my priority being to make the costumer happy, I focused on being flexible and friendly. The backstage of a performance can be chaotic and fast paced which forced me to deal with challenges as they come in a calm and efficient manner.

University Of Massachusetts, Amherst

As a student caller for the Annual Fund at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, my goal is to create a strong connection with alumni to their alma mater, as well as provide support to the university and its students. This experience has sharpened my customer service skills and office knowledge.

With 40 children under my supervision, I worked hard to maintain a safe and open community where each camper and counselor felt welcome. Because of the large amount of traveling the camp did, I had to stay vigilant, patient and responsible. Each camper taught me something new and working with a variety of children and parents helped me foster valuable personal skills.

As president for the National Honor Society at my high school, I worked with my advisers and other team members to organize and motivate the students in our organization to not only meet our community service goals, but to actually exceed them. I was responsible for tracking the community service hours and attendance of 65+ students, while conducting myself in a way that serves as a role model for the school and community. I was forced to hold others accountable for their actions, which was difficult to learn at first but I quickly adapted the conversation into one that I was confident and comfortable having with my peers. This experience taught me a lot about interpersonal skills, accountability and teamwork, as well as giving back to the community.

During my freshman year of high school, I was elected class treasurer and was then re-elected each year after that. Being a class officer allowed me to connect with a lot of students that I might not have otherwise, and taught me how to listen to another's problems and then translate them to a higher authority in hopes of making change. Since I worked closely with the class advisers, I viewed myself as a bridge between the class and the faculty. I was responsible for fundraising and collecting/counting any money the class received. I also planned both prom and aspects of my class's graduation.

Over the course of four years, I served as a cheerleading coach for a total of 100+ children. I had to find the right mix of discipline and fun in order to lead the team productively, which proved to be a challenge at first. I was able to create lasting bonds with many of the cheerleaders and assist them with personal problems and/or concerns. This experience left me with greater skills in time management, organization, adaptability, dealing with adversity and more.
