I bring over 20 years of experience working in the textbook publishing industry, while also working as a tutor, mentor, and volunteer along the way. In my current part-time role as an Academic Tutor at Littera Education, I teach grade school and middle school students and offer a high impact tutoring curriculum. My focus is on tutoring reading, with an emphasis on phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. I tutor virtually, working with Edmentum and Epic! technology, in the subjects of reading and math. I earned the Advancing Literacy, Columbia University Tutoring Certificate. I have been an academic tutor at Champion Learning Center in New York City, where I developed effective teaching techniques that complimented each student’s unique learning style. Additionally, I volunteered for CUNY Citizenship Now! which gave me the opportunity to work with individuals from all over the world. Finally, as a writing mentor at The International Center, I worked on numerous writing projects for adult clients that ranged from editing resumes, to assisting with creative writing projects.
