Entrepreneur early childhood teacher, forest school mentor and artist. Having thoroughly explored every field of early childhood education for over 25 years I have joined with my colleague Narell McKenna to establish Birdwings Forest School, the Gold Coast's first Forest School.This small business brings together our mutual experience with early childhood education, mentoring, environmental awareness and therapeutic approaches. Our intuitive and adventurous pedagogy supports children to flourish on their personal developmental paths. Our work with children, families, community and local environmental projects makes our forest school a special and sought-after experience on the Gold Coast. Birdwings Forest School was winner of the Outdoors Qld Awards in 2020 (Community Nature Play award), 2022 (Education award) and finalists every other year since 2017.Birdwings Forest School pioneers the pedagogical approach of Ecological Storytelling, a way of understanding ourselves and our world through our stories of personal experience and observations in our place-based learning.
