Birdwings Forest School offers children and families the opportunity to experience a natural childhood. All our programs are 100% outdoors and screen-free, seeking fun and adventure with friends in nature, just as childhood should be. Our small, multi-age groups with adult mentors are reminiscent of the childhood of the 80s: child-led, free, wild and creative. Children are mentored by early childhood professionals experienced in playwork and forest school leadership, supporting children to gain skills for independence, resilience, communication and creative thinking.
Birdwings is the Gold Coast's first Forest School offering outdoor programs in rainforests, creeks, farms and bushland. Founded by Narell McKenna and Jennifer McCormack, Birdwings has developed a uniquely Australian approach to forest school learning and nature connection. We offer professional development to educators nation-wide.
