Throughout my professional career spanning 14 years of experience in the field of education, I have developed core competencies in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) according to federal regulations and best practices, evaluating and analyzing student referrals and assessments, and leading and managing a team of paraprofessionals. I also have skills in program evaluation, legal compliance, and cross-functional team collaboration, which I gained from my previous role as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at Aspen School District, where I supported the Exceptional Student Services department. I am always seeking to learn more and grow as a professional, and I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to help learners achieve goals, whether their IEP goals as written by the IEP team, or goals from the student's heart. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education with an Emphasis in Early Childhood, which enables me to design and deliver developmentally appropriate and evidence-based interventions and strategies for learners with special needs. My passion is providing individualized and inclusive education for students with diverse learning needs, while using my gifts to help students that have needs beyond those of a "typical" learner. With my love of writing, I deeply enjoy being responsible for meticulously perfect, legally sound, and exceptionally compliant IEP documents per the guidelines and requirements set forth in IDEA.
