Writing and editing are my passions. As Publications Coordinator for Northern State University, I led a comprehensive re-design of Admissions materials. I have crafted feature stories, news releases, newsletters, letters and promotional materials. My editing experience spans college catalogs, websites, manuals, newsletters, and everyday copy. On a personal note, I write poetry and am writing a memoir about my 20-year+ journey as a breast cancer survivor. My professional aspiration is to enter the publishing field, country music/entertainment industry, or university communications as an editor, copywriter, and/or public relations professional.My skills include attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking, planning, interpersonal communication, empathy, and, of course, writing and editing.A career highlight was being honored with the UCM, Missouri, Central Region, and global NACADA Outstanding Academic Advisor awards in 2015-2016.
