A common theme threads through all my work. Supporting people. I’ve used effective tools in education and a strength-based approach in organizational change and personal growth perspectives. My professional experiences include a linear line to empowering and supporting individuals, all while building the community that can also support their hopes, dreams, and goals. Everyone wins in that kind of community. Here are my keys to the wins.I began my career as a wide-eyed, extremely optimistic, mental health therapist who was going to save other people from their dysfunctional situations. It took be about 5 minutes to realize no one needed my saving. What they needed was support and a new way forward, using their strengths and skills in surviving to eventually thriving. It was the combination of education and support that offered the most support and guidance to help make important choices about specific relational situations and goal- oriented outcomes. I was inspired and amazed at people’s resiliency and capacity for healing and growth. Their hope for the future and their dreams were as important as what they had already managed to navigate. Once I witnessed how empowering that learning new success skills and being supported were for individuals, my transition to higher education teaching psychology and success skills was a natural fit. My experiences leading program development in higher education drove my desire to work with businesses as a trainer and coach. I have a wide skill set including education and training development using a variety of formats, organizational and program development & design, and expertise in positive psychology to enhance learning and development strategies. I practice a systemic strategic planning model and particularly enjoy finding innovative solutions to enhance engagement at all levels of an organization.My combination of years of varied and unique experiences, along with my passion to support others, make me an exceptionally skilled, innovative, and collaborative leader with a focus on building strong professional relationships.
