Why are you so inquisitive? The words I heard almost on a daily during my childhood. That's where my love of learning comes in. When it came to university and what I was going to study my mother wanted me to do Information Technology. I was of the opinion too many people were studying it - which will make it difficult to find a job. I always have been different and didn't want to do what others were doing just because it's the new craze. Then as my love for learning prompted me to want to study a Masters in eCommerce, my boss at the time suggested why not do Information Technology. Thinking I'll just do a certificate and then go back to the e-Commerce stream - joke was definitely on me!! I was fascinated by big data, the logic thinking of SQL, and business analysis and wanted to delve deeper. Should of listened to my mother those years when I was trying to figure out my life. My husband always used to roll his eyes at me for always pointing out how amazing big data is. Yes! I'm that fascinated. Struggling to find a position within the company I work for, my boss added the task of BI analyses to my duties - because of my IT background of course. What a turnaround! I was fascinated by the things I could accomplish and the part I had in driving business decisions. Here we are over 10 years later and me wanting to seriously pivot into Data Analytics. I took a Data Science with Python short course and now currently busy with certifications on Udemy and Microsoft. See, inquisitive!When I was trying to figure out where I belong, after 15 years in the same type of job, I did a psychometric test and we figured out that I love to help people. I love to be a part of something that brings value. We had a 'giving back' initiative within our department that I was the driver of. I am extremely proud of our role we played in SME's and Non-Profits. Just to make the load a little bit lighter. Now, I strive to always see how I'm bringing value in everything I do (at work or at home).Besides my aspiring career and the changes I foresee, I am a wife and mom. I have 2 daughters that fills my life with countless joy. I have an immense love of reading, and enjoy the outdoors - hiking specifically. My friends would describe me as a lover of people, huge heart and painfully optimistic. I'm best known for being creative amongst my coworkers, I'm always the one they come to when the creative flair is needed in projects.
