Representing indigent people charged with criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors in Thurston County District Court. Conduct client interviews and provide representation during arraignments, probable cause hearings, and pre-trial hearings. Second chaired a trial that involved an alleged assault, conducting the opening statement. Conduct cross-examination of witnesses during a SSOSA (Special Sex Offender Sentencing Alternative) revocation hearing in Thurston County Superior Court. Conduct legal research for matters relating to current cases.

Maintained constant contact with all parties that were involved in the child’s case. Kept an ongoing daily log on the progress of the case. Wrote a formal report that was presented to the judge concerning the recommendations for the child’s placement.

Conducted legal research to determine whether a drowning in the Mississippi River occurred in Minnesota or Wisconsin for state statistical purposes. Assisted local religious institutions with the legal regulations concerning newly constructed cemeteries. Wrote speeches for the County Recorder to present at meetings. Conducted informational presentations for Laocean communities on census participation.
