Dedicated leader with 20+ years of experience in leading strategy and initiatives, developing professionals, and providing high quality learning for adults. I am the Director of Professional Learning in Aurora Public Schools. I am responsible for providing the vision and strategy for the development and execution of professional development programming for staff members. This role collaborates with all departments within the organization to coordinate and support learning and development initiatives. This includes onboarding, induction, coaching, and career development to advance the education of our staff. I also served as a school leader for seven years. My most exciting work as a principal was creating strong grade level teams focused on collaboration, learning, and results. I provided guidance to direct reports and ensured clarity around priorities and goals for the school. I managed the school budget and oversaw the talent identification and development process for all staff in the building. I worked across the system to meet both school and district goals. We partnered with families and the community. Prior to moving to the Denver Metro area, I worked for two different school districts in Northern Colorado — In Poudre School District I worked as a classroom teacher and an instructional coach. Realizing my passion for teaching and learning, I worked for three years at the district office in professional development and coaching. A large part of my role was developing a vision for a change initiative (RtI/MTSS) and rolling out the initiative to the entire district. We worked in over thirty schools to implement the change. In 2011, I accepted a position in the Greeley Evans school district as an assistant principal and then shortly after I was offered a principal position. These opportunities helped me become the leader I am today. I am currently attending Grand Canyon University where I am studying Organizational Leadership and Development. I have an Master's Degree in leadership from Colorado State University and a BA in communication from the University of Northern Colorado.
