I have 5 years of substitute teaching experience in several school districts in Muskingum County. I also have 9 years of full-time teaching experience, both as a teacher in a self-contained Multiple Handicapped classroom and as a teacher/tutor in a district-sponsored community e-school, now the Alternative Education Program for the district. As a classroom teacher, I wrote weekly lesson plans. I also planned a field trip to the Zane Grey/National Road Museum for my class. To help my students interact with their non-disabled peers, I coordinated with the guidance counselor of the school to schedule general education classes for my students to attend.As an intervention specialist at an online school, I try to coordinate with the core content teachers to ensure that my students will get the most out of the classes that they are in online. I also work with a social worker to help my students get the community help that they may not know how to access.
