Carl Duisberg Centren is a leading service enterprise in the area of international training and qualifications. For 60 years, they have been working to help people understand each other across borders. My task is the extracurricular supervision of a group of twenty language students from Malaysia. This includes organizing leisure activities, helping with administrative tasks and helping with questions that arise about germany and their new life here.

The main goal it pursues is to develop a dashboard of socio-educational integration indicators for migrant and refugee children incorporating all relevant stakeholders on the matter (children and their families, teachers, educators, researchers, and policymakers) through co-creation methodologies. The survey is conducted in schools and other educational environments, and it targets children aged 7 to 18, their teachers, and school principals. This and the remaining tasks of the project are directed towards the generation of policy recommendations to improve the integration systems of refugee and migrant children in Europe. I work as a temporary First Stage Researcher for a month to assist in data collection. This includes contacting schools and coordinating data collection with them. Show less

As a student assistant at GESIS I work in the department "Survey Data Curation" in the Team "International Studies" with the focus on the annual survey ISSP. The ISSP is a cross-national collaboration programme conducting annual surveys on diverse topics relevant to social sciences. My tasks include preparing the ISSP data for further use by researchers and supporting my supervisors in analysing the data for social science papers.
