Worked on the Elasticsearch instance for four of Amyris’ major databases, by building a Pyramid web application implementing global search and improving Amyris's logging pipeline using the Elastic Stack. This improved log tracking experience for the software engineers as logs/bugs could be more easily accessed and identified.

Building a multiple sequence alignment program to align CRISPR spacers and designing a corresponding visualization of the dataset for later analysis of bacterial strain microevolutions and comparative genomics. I also contributed to data collection using next generation sequencing in a Human Microbiome Project observing gut colonization in infants.

Developed software to compare the genetic profile of a bacterial strain to the core and pan genome of its species and wrote programs to assess the implications for virulence and antibiotic resistance. Moreover, I designed a user-friendly interface to display observed bacteria’s gene profile and threat characterization.

Collected phylogenetic data for Ephydridae family.
