My excellent communication and problem-solving skills, combined with a strong work ethic, make me a valuable asset to any organization.I am a quick learner, eager to apply my medical and healthcare knowledge to practical challenges.In 2003, I graduated from Missouri College with a Medical Assistant diploma. Since then, I have worked in several different areas of health care ranging from Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Infectious Disease, Gastroenterology, Radiology and OBGYN. In these areas, I have performed many different job responsibilities including checking patients in for appointments, obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefits, obtaining vital signs, medication prior authorization, Radiology prior authorization, medical record requests, Radiology transcription, telephone triage and I have also been in a supervisor role. I am currently in school for Medical Billing and Coding and will be obtaining my Certified Professional Coder’s Certificate in December of 2024 from Devry University. I am drawn to medical billing and coding because it involves healthcare, technology and organization which is fascinating. I also enjoy working with precise details and accuracy which is crucial in medical billing and coding to ensure proper documentation and billing processes. Medical Billing and Coding can also help me contribute to the healthcare industry by ensuring that healthcare providers receive accurate payments for their services which will help patients receive the proper care. My organizational skills also can contribute greatly to the strong organizational abilities that it takes to manage and process large amounts of data efficiently.
