As a contributor to HIStalk (https://histalk2.com/), I write about healthcare IT for hospitals and physician practices (HIStalkPractice.com). I also oversee a variety of HIStalk social networking channels, and help to manage relationships with HIStalk sponsors and advertisers. I also enjoy working on the occasional freelance writing project for health IT industry stakeholders.I founded the #healthITchicks social networking community, which while active sought to connect women, both personally and professionally, working within the healthcare technology industry. The community helped to grow industry awareness of gender-related issues in the workplace and within health IT, and used its influence to give back through efforts like its annual holiday giving campaign.I am a past board member of the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society, and have managed its social media activities. I am also a former chair of the Health IT Leadership Summit Marketing Committee, which works to increase awareness of the annual, Atlanta-based event.
