Through having been an AmeriCorps VISTA, Peace Corps volunteer, and earning an MBA, my background supplies me with numerous skills that I draw on to be an outstanding technical professional. I believe it allows me to look at issues from a variety of perspectives, which is powered by my unique combination of soft and technical skills. I’m deeply motivated by growth, achievement, and helping others, which I carry into my pursuit of a career in tech.Building technical skills has been a major focus since beginning to study data on my own. In order to grow my skillset, I’ve completed two PGP programs, a bootcamp, and many online courses, so I have built vital foundational knowledge, but I’m still eager to keep learning and growing. Currently, I’m putting my skills to use as a volunteer with Best Friends Animal Society. I believe in giving back and helping animals in need! Additionally, through my MBA and time studying international business in France, I can better understand why something is critical for a business and work to meet its targets. However, I don’t just get things done; I also focus on excellence. I’m a first-generation college graduate, who is also Phi Beta Kappa. Outside of tech, I enjoy movies, nature, reading (fiction and non-fiction), and travel.One of the reasons that I focus on growth is so I can be a better team member and help teammates the way that I have tried to help people as a volunteer. I also enjoy working with a variety of people from different backgrounds. In France, I was the only American in our group, which was an amazing intercultural, teamwork experience. I believe my international experiences have enriched my life and critical thinking ability. My teaching and volunteering experiences have provided me with an empathetic, helpful attitude and good presentation skills. I hope to put these skills to use throughout my tech career, build new ones, and make a positive impact on others.
