International Commercial LawI was the primary attorney for Region Latin America with responsibilities that included hiring & managing external counsel, approving legal documentation, and adapting & implementing global contract management processes. I worked with the Chief Compliance Officer in the due diligence review of Latin American 3rd party partners to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations. Data Privacy/ProtectionActed as the main data privacy contact for the Americas, I performed research and advised on Elekta's regulatory and contractual obligations with focus on HIPAA and HITECH. As part of this role, I drafted and negotiated local data protection documentation and advised on Elekta's global data protection strategies and policies. CIPP/US certified. Technology and Cloud TransactionsDuring my tenure at Elekta, I worked closely with the Elekta cloud solutions team in its evolution of its cloud service offering. This relationship included the design and implementation of cloud end-user terms and conditions, the review and approval of 3rd party technology agreements, the management of regional adaptations and consideration of global data protection risks.

I was responsible for negotiating multi-million dollar purchase, license, service and cloud solution agreements for a Swedish medical technology company and advised managers and executives on legal issues and risk mitigation strategies arising within the corporate environment. Additionally, I reviewed and negotiated intricate corporate contracts including, but not limited to, leases, bank financing, and construction contracts, and provided contract support to the global procurement and logistics department. Finally, for customer disputes and litigation, I supported external counsel by reviewing and revising pleadings and motions, providing discovery support, and drafting settlement agreements.
