Contemplative Practitioners at Charlie Health support our clients through the use of various contemplative practices and believe that healing occurs in the experience itself. Through immersive experiences, we are able to connect with hard to reach feelings and learn healthy coping skills in order to have new and more adequate responses to challenging situations.

A River Changes Course is a documentary by Kalyanee Mam about three young Cambodians struggling to overcome the crushing effects of deforestation, overfishing, and debt in this devastating and beautiful story of an ancient culture ravaged by globalization. • Serving as the liaison/contact person between Kalyanee, organizations, and universities • Reaching out to environmental, human rights, women’s organizations, communities, colleges, universities, and the Cambodian American community with potential interest in hosting a screening• Assisting Kalyanee, the organizations, and Picture Motion in coordinating the screenings• Updating the calendar with booked flights, interviews, and screenings • Devise strategy for outreach and publicity

KGA is a community-based organization whose mission is to build a progressive community that works for gender, racial, and economic justice led by Southeast Asian women.• Facilitate 6 session poetry workshops for teenagers (age 14-18) from the Cambodian community• Develop lesson plans and materials for each workshop session• Use wide variety of techniques to engage with disadvantaged youth• Must attend rehearsals and the official event “Yellow Lounge” held every year

I pursued a Master's degree in East-West Psychology because I was interested in an unconventional approach to psychology. I believe that spirituality is a vital part of the human experience and I wanted to understand how to integrate it back into my life. My Master's thesis was a performance piece that consisted of a monologue, enigmatic dance, and song, that portrayed my inner transformative experience, facing the pain and suffering rooted from my parents' experience in the Khmer Rouge Genocide.

The Self Advocacy for Growth and Empowerment Program helps individuals with developmental disabilities to succeed in their own life by finding them new opportunities and providing guidance.• Assisted clients with their daily plans and activities in working toward a specific goal; Taught clients how to budget money, find a job, and how to manage their time; Motivated clients to exercise; Helped clients find classes, volunteering opportunities and community work • Tutored English and reading comprehension in preparation for college placement test; Guided clients in the college process such as signing up for classes and entrance exams

ETS is a one-on-one tutoring program given free to low-income students from the grades K-12 in the subjects of math or language arts.• Taught math or reading to K-12 students in student’s home or library; Delivered one-to-one lessons using a variety of ETS materials; Monitored student’s progress and make adjustments according to individual students’ needs; Created lesson plans and activities for students; Maintained detailed written records of teaching sessions; Supported students with diverse abilities/backgrounds

The Wellness Peer Education Program is dedicated to educating fellow students about mental health and wellness, and spreading awareness of Counseling and Psychological Services on campus. • Main event coordinator; Managed all logistics for “Sweet Dreams,” an on-campus event promoting healthy sleep to students• Worked with post-doctoral interns, psychologists, and other Peer Educators to construct psycho-educational workshops and interactive presentations related to mental health and wellness; topics including building social confidence, stress management, and healthy relationships• Received training on depression, anxiety, love and communication, mindfulness, and other mood disorders, financial wellness, and assertiveness to head workshops for students

DC-Cam is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing justice and memory to the lives of those who died and suffered during the Cambodian Genocide between 1975-1979. • Researched for, wrote and published first book, Unspoken Words, in August 2010• Published article in the Cambodia Daily, We Must Not Flinch in Fight Against Evil’s Invisible Armies, on July 30th 2010• Interviewed Khmer Rouge survivors and the Civil Party of Duch’s Trial • Compiled research by traveling to different provinces in Cambodia• Participated in events such as the Cambodian Youth Arts Festival, Duch’s Verdict (Head Chief of Tuol Sleng Prison) and the Cambodian-American Relations Conference• Worked closely with Director Youk Chhang in creating new projects • Networked with scholars, professors, professionals, and graduate students
