As a business owner and accountant I’m always thinking about fiscal responsibility, but it's not what I believe makes the difference in Hippo’s success. What really matters most is the people at Hippo and the impact we can make together as a purpose driven team.My role at Hippo is to ensure we have diverse skills and perspectives and that all team members know and understand the Hippo Way “who we are and how we operate” and how this helps us create great experiences for our audience in all we do.If something matters to the team than it matters to me, this has led the way to initiatives I’ve implemented or championed related to our Hippo Social Impact, to a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, and an increase in our mental health coverage.I’ve had some really fantastic opportunities in my career, beyond what I could have imagined for myself. I was the accountant for a startup that went to acquisition in less than 24 months and sold for $350M+, I’ve been the director of a foundation that donated millions of dollars annually to support projects locally and internationally. As part of the Hippo team I’ve helped transition the company from a $5M debt to becoming a successful small game studio, to our current trajectory of a scaling medium size studio making bold moves with new games, on new platforms, and in new markets around the world. Life outside of work:I’m passionate about volunteering and have been an active volunteer for the past 20+ years. Currently I'm a volunteer board member of a Christian mission organization as well as serving on the board of a local tech hub. When I’m not working or volunteering you’re most likely to find me outdoors. I love to hike with friends and Indie, my Boston terrier. Spending time with family is at the top of my list of favourite things to do. And when I can, I love to travel and explore new places and cultures.
