Everyone has had their experiences with sales people and the sales process both good and bad. The dictionary definition is overly simplistic and reinforces the idea that sales are nothing more than a transactional interaction. Good vs. GreatI transitioned from a good salesperson to a great one with experience and mentorship. A great sales person doesn’t just stop at the "transaction". I look to make sure that the customers experience will be stronger by asking questions, actively listening to their problems and performing a needs assessment. I am on the front lines negotiating and constantly connecting with clients, trying to pick up any other key problems the client may have, to see if the organization can fulfill their needs with new/customized product/solutions. My PassionI can’t speak for others but I know that my passion in sales is ignited when I see that I am able to provide people with a chance to change their lives/career. Even after 10 years, my passion is as strong as ever because when I check in with my clients and hear what they have done and accomplished as a direct result of doing business with me. It ultimately gives me with a strong drive to do more.
