1in10 empowers women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome by providing knowledge, resources and support. It is our goal to promote public awareness of PCOS. We encourage those suffering, and those who know someone suffering, from PCOS to unite and join together as a sisterhood. We hope to inspire sufferers of PCOS to take charge in their journey through PCOS and/or infertility, and to embrace their experience.1in10 was conceived in 2011 by a group of women with PCOS, and those who support them, in response to a lack of information and public awareness about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. We aim to give a voice to the millions of women diagnosed with PCOS every year. Many of the women who are diagnosed with PCOS do not receive adequate medical education about PCOS treatment, and can not get affordable health care because of a PCOS diagnosis. When PCOS is not treated, symptoms worsen and the risk of developing life-threatening diseases significantly increases. Currently, it is estimated that 10% of women of childbearing age are affected by PCOS and 75% of women with PCOS are undiagnosed – in the U.S. alone, that percentage translates to an astounding 7 million women!1in10 aspires to be a source of hope to those women with PCOS who feel alone and isolated because of PCOS. We aim to connect women with PCOS from across the nation.
