The Braw Wee Emporium is a Scottish Gift Shop and Workshop provider. We originally started as a record and gift shop based in the heart of the Barras Market, which aimed to contribute to the regeneration of the Barras Market and promotion of Scottish artists, makers, and designers. In addition to selling products we run creative workshops including Make Your Own Bottle Lamp and Arm Knitting workshops across Scotland. In 2020, we decided to close our physical shop and focus on developing our online shop and delivering more workshops across the country. Braw Wee was set up in November 2014 by Jennifer McGlone in the office space of her arts consultancy business based in the amazing Barras Art and Design Centre.Stocking the very best in folk, jazz and acoustic music concentrating on releases not available in mainstream shops. We also stock a fantastic range of jewellery, candles, homewares, baby gifts and artwork by Scottish based artists and designers – again all things you can’t get from the high street.Our aim is to support Scotland’s incredible creative community by stocking local talent.

Glow Arts specialises in project/ events curation and management, fundraising, promotions, consultancy and education projects in the Arts sector. Specialist knowledge in Youth Arts (particularly music), traditional arts and events. Glow Arts started as a Traditional Music booking agency, events production & management, and music education company. Sole Trader, booking tours and gigs for Lau, Lori Watson Three, Mick West Band, and others in the Scottish traditional music scene. Organised master classes and concerts as part of Edinburgh's Ceilidh Culture.

Creative East End CIC is a new creative hub that provides space and opportunities for local businesses, residents and visitors to come together. Based at 200 Gallowgate, we aim to provide the space for new initiatives and ideas to develop that will support the economic growth and regeneration of the area. The Creative East End hub provides a coffee shop, co-working spaces, events/ workshop space and retail space which is home to the Braw Wee Emporium. We are open 7 days a week, 9am - 5pm and later for special events. We aim to contribute to the establishment of both the Calton, and the wider East End as a destination for everyone. Creative East End will bring people together to develop new initiatives that will support the economic growth of the area and contribute to addressing some of the issues in the Calton. We want to provide a space for the creative community living and working in the East End of Glasgow, residents, businesses and community organisations. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company with all profits going back into supporting local community based projects, events, training and employing local people. Our coffee shop and event/ workshop hire raises funds to support our work with local community organisations.

Coordination of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year awards and MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.

Key responsibilities included the delivery of CashBack for Creativity a strand of CashBack for Communities; Youth Music Initiative (Informal Sector, Independent Music Making & Early Years) and Traditional Arts investment strands.

Tin Whistle Tutor for the organisations school workshops, summer schools and adult classes.

Manage and develop a programme of weekly traditional music classes, workshops, events and projects. Management of volunteers and tutors. Financial management, marketing, funding applications.

Development of traditional music activities in South Lanarkshire, class and courses, summer schools, partnerships with Education Services, programming Trad music concerts at East Kilbride Arts Centre & the Village Theatre, fundraising and contribute to the overall strategic remit of South Lanarkshire Council's Arts Development Team
