Jennifer Hurst is the Director of Philanthropy at Christian Student Fellowship at the University of Kentucky. An innovative, high-energy professional passionate about making a difference. Connective, friendly, a team player with a comprehensive background in effective fundraising, communications, and project management. A versatile professional, hands-on servant leader who drives progress toward projects, goals, and milestones.Jennifer was also an Annual Fund and Alumni Manager for six years and an assistant principal at LCA for preschool through 5th-grade students for eight years. She joined LCA as a first-grade teacher in 2011 and became assistant principal in 2013 after gaining 12 years of expertise in Fayette County public schools. Mrs. Hurst taught in various instructional settings, elementary-level primary classrooms, and reading and math interventions. Since 2009, Mrs. Hurst has educated children, teachers, and administration in the Math in Focus® program, focusing on the pedagogy and implementation of the program. Jennifer has been a Per Diem for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, presenting overviews and assisting teachers in implementing math programs in numerous K–5 classrooms. In addition, she has visited many classrooms, modeling, and coaching teachers in best practices for math instruction across the United States. Jennifer loves to serve her community. She serves as Board President of The Lexington Dream Factory, which grants dreams to children ages 3-18 diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses. She is also the Executive Committee Chapter Representative on the National Board for The Dream Factory. Jennifer is active with the American Cancer Society. She loves volunteering at Southland Christian Church as a Connection Coach, packing meals for Haiti, and backpack program. On a mission trip to Port-de-Paix, Haiti stole Jennie's heart several years ago. Since then, her heart has desired to go back and or somehow be involved in helping the children in Haiti. She does that on the board of Hills of His Grace, a nonprofit whose mission is to Show Christ's deep and wide love in the hills of Haiti.After moving from Jenison, Michigan, to attend school at the University of Kentucky, Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A. in Ed.), where she was honored to earn a full grant-in-aid scholarship to play volleyball for the University of Kentucky. She earned her Master's in Elementary Education (M.A.Ed.) from Georgetown College. Jennifer is married to her best friend, Lance, and has one daughter, Makenna.
