I also work directly with our legal department to facilitate legislative and legal challenges to discriminatory state laws that prevent Secular Celebrant from solemnizing marriages in most states. I am responsible for program development, database management and all program related administrative tasks. Persons who are not affiliated with any religion constitute 29% of the US population (Pew 2021). Unfortunately, the choice of persons to conduct ceremonies for marriages, commitment ceremonies, memorials, and other rites of passage is usually between religious clergy and civil officials.
