During my third year, I worked on the SheffHEPP (Sheffield Hydroelectric power project) student-led project at the University of Sheffield as lead of the Civil and Structural team. 'SheffHEPP is a collaborative effort between engineering students and various local councils across the UK to harness local bodies of water for additional green energy sources. I additionally worked on improving the structure of the project and individual teams as a whole, in order to create a smoother and efficient environment.

During this placement, I worked on many diverse projects across the UK. I worked with brand new software (such as Civil 3D and Microdrainage) to create drawings for a flood alleviation scheme, adapt and test pipeline systems and additionally produced a drainage strategy using newly learned engineering concepts such as SuDs (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems). This internship not only bolstered my technical skills but also honed my ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, setting a strong foundation for my future career in civil engineering.
