Recently returned to the world of freelance, after three years as a Creative Director at an Auckland agency. Prior to this, I had been freelancing for four years in London as an Art Director and Senior Creative Designer, working alongside a number of brilliant agencies and studios right across the creative sector. I don't fit easily into any particular boxes. I am just as passionate about strategic thinking and idea generation as I am art direction and design, copywriting and crafting. My years of studio and agency experience means I am comfortable as part of a team, working independently or taking the creative lead. My interest and experience in the 'thinking', as well as the 'making', makes me a valuable creative resource to help deliver on projects from start to finish.

As the Creative Director at Bob's Your Uncle, I helped shape and lead the creative growth of the agency, from a small output design studio to a full-service agency. I managed a small but mighty creative team, as we worked across a wide range of clients and projects, from through the line creative advertising campaigns, to brand strategy and design, TVC and online video, digital and website. Notably, I worked primarily on Contact Energy throughout my three years, working through a communications strategy and marketing plan overhaul, new brand identity and visual refresh, alongside regular advertising campaigns and internal comms.At Bob's, I worked closely alongside the Account Service team, Strategic Director and CEO, working collaboratively to always deliver thoughtful, considered creative solutions that were effective, both emotionally and aesthetically.

My key role at The Bank was Art Director on premium beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro – on both the UK and Global campaign accounts. Spanning the entire creative process, I oversaw and generated the application of the brand across a range of activations and touch points including ATL, BTL, digital and experiential, through to internal communications and brand guidelines. My role straddled that of Senior Designer, and I comfortably implemented creative solutions for final production. I played a primary role in a number of successful projects in the UK, including the touring exhibition The Peroni Collection: Italian Style on the Silver Screen; the Masters of Style Exhibition at Somerset House; and the immersive contemporary opera experience Opera di Peroni. Beyond my role on Peroni Nastro Azzurro, I was heavily involved in collaborative team work on new business pitches and offered extensive support and input on other retained clients of The Bank.

As Art Director/ Creative Designer at 365 days, I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of design projects, both as part of the small 3-member creative team and as an independent. I was responsible for the team work-flow, management and the mentoring of junior staff, and communicated directly with the Creative Director, editorial department and with clients. My primary role was Art Director of AsiaLIFE magazine, an english-language publication aimed at the expat community of Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding urban centres. My role extended from initial concept generation to art direction for covers and editorial content, copy input and editing, image retouching and layout, to pre-production. As the sole Art Director, I also led the design and brand development of AsiaLIFE, adapting and tailoring the design aesthetic towards the look and feel of an international publication. This development reflected the editorial shift from guidebook to concept-driven magazine. The tight three-week turnaround was both a challenging and enjoyable experience and I thrived under the pressure. As leader of the creative department, I liaised closely with the editorial department, creative director and our in-house photographers. From the early stages of editorial direction and concept generation, through the editing and art direction stages, and then layout and pre-production, my communication and organisational skills were integral to the success of the magazine.
