As the head regulatory counsel for crypto and blockchain solutions globally at Mastercard, I lead and advise the organization in navigating the rapidly evolving and increasingly complex regulatory landscape for new digital forms of money. I also manage the regulatory support for Mastercard's Cyber & Intelligence Solutions business, which focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain analytics and digital identity to improve the safety, security and reliability of financial services.

In this newly created position within Mastercard, I advised business and functional teams globally on regulatory and legal implications associated with innovative technologies, including crypto-assets. I also advised on the broader regulatory, economic, geopolitical and environmental impacts of digital assets through Mastercard's Policy, Communications and Regulatory Advocacy groups to help shape the future regulation of digital assets.

I regularly advised on products, services and initiatives regulated by the U.S. federal and state regulations around consumer and individual privacy, cybersecurity, biometrics artificial intelligence, unfair trade practices and consumer protection, communications, and employee privacy. I engaged heavily in U.S. regulatory developments (federal and state) around the collection, use and sharing of personal information, antitrust/competition, ethical use of data, sale of data, algorithmic accountability and cross-border data transfers. My internal and external advocacy was key to Mastercard's mission to shape the future of privacy regulation to protect and empower individual control over their information while preserving the ability for companies to innovate and advance technology.

Elected to serve a six-year term on the Board of Directors of this mission-driven, non-profit 501(c) organization. Alpha Sigma Nu ("ASN") was established in 1915 to exemplify a dedication to scholarship, loyalty and service by encouraging and supporting the lifetime pursuit of intellectual development, deepening Ignatian spirituality, service to others and the promotion of justice.

I served as primary subject-matter expert and legal counsel for all data protection, privacy, cybersecurity and information security matters across 26 countries with offices and 80+ countries in which the organization conducts business within the financial services industry.

I advised globally on legal issues arising out of the Company's global information security, technology and data activities and designed the Company's first strategy and roadmap for building a global privacy program.I also performed the non-legal role as an information security professional within the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance department, expanding the company's data protection strategy to address evolving regulatory requirements, reputational expectations and industry standards. I managed multiple direct reports, external consultants and the enterprise-wide information security training and awareness program delivered annually to 80,000+ employees.At the request of General Counsel, I directed and managed an executive-sponsored project to address cyberterrorism within critical infrastructure operations (power grid and water supply) to successfully obtain a market-differentiating certification that provides liability protections and competitive advantage. I reported directly to the CEO and General Counsel, worked with Business Unit leadership and product teams, managed outside counsel and represented the company before the Department of Homeland Security.

I supported the overall compliance with U.S. antitrust laws, import/export laws, sanctions, supply chain security, free trade agreements, nuclear regulations, and anti-bribery laws through provision of legal counsel, training, audits, remediation plans, communications, and problem solving. I partnered with Business Units to develop and implement robust trade compliance processes and procedures throughout their organizations and advised on transaction-specific issues.

While earning my Masters degree full-time, I supported a senior equity shareholder to manage the high-volume, multi-state asbestos defense litigation workload for a leading national manufacturer of packaged boilers.

I served as President-elect of the Marquette University Chapter of this prestigious honors society and organization of Jesuit universities devoted to Scholarship, Loyalty and Service. I also supported the Executive Director of the National Alpha Sigma Nu office.
