Responsible for new product category development and overseas factory introductions for Core and Licensed collections, including Christian Lacroix, Dabney Lee, Jonathan Adler, and Andy Warhol. Collaborate with sales for new retail business development with key accounts, including Barnes & Noble, Indigo, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, TJX, and Staples.

Responsible for Product Development across all Random House Children’s Books’ licensed portfolio of brands including Dream World by Emily Winfield Martin, Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book, Wonder, Uni the Unicorn, Duck and Goose, and other emerging brands. Product categories include toy, apparel, fabric by the yard, gift and home décor. Worked alongside Editors and Authors / Agents to ensure all licensed articles are approved in a timely manner. Led meetings with licensee partners to plan range, understand production methods / limitations and address any issues and needs in relation to creative, approvals and style guides. Assisted in the creation of style guides and branding specific to the US and Canadian markets, as well as new business development initiatives. Managed all artwork approvals for licensees/agents across all main licensed product categories for North America and Spain, including apparel and accessories, gift, toy, and all other categories under head of licensing.

Directed, created and developed visual overarching concepts, color, and design for proprietary and licensed product within the Gift Department, including Seasonal / Core brands. Categories include fashion accessories, journals, paper products, and stationery, soft home textiles, and other non-book items to support business goals with annual sales of 66M for 683 brick & mortar stores and e-commerce. Managed 2 direct reports and numerous outside freelance artists to develop production-ready designs for Seasonal and Core brand programs. Negotiated pricing to deliver increases of 10-12% in proprietary sales over 5 years and maintain 70% margins throughout the product lifecycle. Helped increase overall sales from $19 to $44 million through analysis of all costs and feasibility of projects. Assisted in launching product collections exclusive to Barnes & Noble with brands such as Jonathan Adler, Vera Bradley, MoMA, and Disney teams collaboratively to develop profitable products for major product launches; Jonathan Adler and Vera Bradley contributed $9 million annually.
