Jenny specialises in Travel Demand Management for areas undergoing significant regeneration and investment in the West Midlands. Her experience includes being the communication and engagement lead for Perry Barr. In advance of the Commonwealth Games major highway improvements, a new integrated bus and rail station, over 1000 new homes, an upgraded athletics stadium and new bus rapid transit route will transform the area. Her responsibilities included managing and delivering the Travel Demand Management Strategy that oversees all of the construction activity and engaging with large trip generators, large businesses and education sites and the local community directly impacted by the works. Face to Face engagement is a key part of her job role. Other projects she is currently working on include Interchange, M42,J6. Jenny also leads on supporting businesses relocating to the West Midlands and supporting their staff with their new travel arrangements through webinars or travel planning events.

Innovation project to gain deeper understanding of network customers via digital technology and segmentation and personas. Lead from TfWM on pilot project on A34 Solihull where data including video analytics from the Static Automatic Traffic Cameras was used to understand travel behaviour. Led on identifying Travel Segmentation and Personas to understand our customers and inform messaging as part of a 3 week campaign.

I worked with over 50 large businesses in Solihull and Birmingham as part of the Local Sustainable Transport Funded project, Smart Network, Smarter Choices, to encourage staff to travel more sustainably to work. Companies that I was responsible for included Jaguar Landrover, Birmingham Airport, Touchwood Shopping Centre and nPower. My main goal was to actively engage with large business to encourage modal shift for staff from single occupancy cars to more sustainable methods of transport. The role involved initially recruiting businesses to join the scheme by presenting at local forum groups and individual businesses. For each company I produced a tailored travel plan, and organised staff travel surveys and promotional events. I was also the marketing lead for the team which involves managing marketing campaigns, resources and budgets for the project.

The Johnson Controls division in which I worked provides Facilities Management support for Barclays across their retail and corporate sites in the UK. My role as the Green Travel Coordinator was to reduce pressure on parking, congestion and carbon emissions for both commuter and business travel across the Barclays sites. My responsibilities included:• Writing site Travel Plans, setting out 5 year strategies of actions to be taken• Regularly organising and attending events to launch new schemes and promote current initiatives• Implementing web based car share schemes, park and ride services and local bus routes• Answering staff queries on a day to day basis and participating in steering group meetings• Designing, collecting and analysing surveys and other data collection results to determine the required focus and promotion opportunities and supporting Council requirements• Making external contacts with other companies in business parks, the Council and other transport providers

During my time as a Transport Planner for Atkins, I was recruited onto the Graduate development programme as part of the sustainable travel team for both private and public sector clients to solve transport issues. All my projects involved working closely with clients, a flair for problem solving, strong mathematical and analytical skills and concise report writing. My responsibilities included:• Producing Travel Plans and Transport Statements/Assessments reports for both private and public sector clients as part of the planning application process• Carrying out traffic surveys and site audits as well as commissioning third party companies to undertake traffic surveys• Use of ARCADY, LINSIG, PICADY and TRICS• Analysing traffic data in excel and use of traffic link models • Developing strong working relationships with clients including Slough Borough Council and London Borough of Richmond upon Thames through regular meetings, email communication and telephone conferences• Working closely with Local Authorities – one day a week was spent in Slough Borough Council offices working to reduce staff car use. This involved liaising with Council staff, the Council Management Team and transport providers to promote, inform and negotiate staff benefits for alternatives to car use• Delivering presentations to a variety of groups, including up to 30 fellow consultants• Writing Travel Plan bids and fee proposals and working to project budgets• Working on several projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines set• Using MapInfo in Travel Plan work to display the accessibility of a site through mapping bus route services, cycling routes and nearby train stations
