Hi there! I'm a product designer working on content management systems for journalists at The New York Times. I'm a journalist-turned-designer who cares about designing inclusive and delightful digital products for users of all levels and abilities. My design superpower is seeing around corners, drawing attention to potential problem areas and proposing a concrete path forward to get ahead of the issue. I enjoy mentoring junior designers and helping others gain expertise in navigating the product organization and collaborating with the newsroom. I might be on the quiet side, but I have a track record of getting things done. I admire the Japanese concept of "nemawashi" — quietly laying the foundation for a big change or a new project by first talking one on one or in small groups with all the concerned stakeholders to gather support and feedback before formally proposing it. I'm known for being able to align large cross-functional teams on initiatives. Before joining The Times, I gained valuable experience working in UX design at Capital One. And before that, I was a public affairs specialist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. I produced videos and shareables for NASA's social media accounts, developed plans to promote NASA missions, educated the public on NASA science and tech and helped our scientists and engineers effectively craft messages to deliver to the public. Outside of work, you can often find me with a paintbrush or colored pencil in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. I enjoy playing volleyball, doing yoga, exploring Brooklyn neighborhoods with my dog, traveling and watching far too much baseball.
