“Early College Strategies for All” (Investing in Innovation (i3) Scale-Up Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education)IRISE sought to increase graduation rates and the number of students who earned college credit as high school students in rural, high poverty districts/schools with a large number of students who are traditionally underrepresented in post-secondary institutions (minority, first-generation college students)—at no expense to the students and their families.Nearly $4M was allocated for work within 10 Southern Illinois school districts to support capacity-building as well as implementation efforts of a comprehensive Early College High School model.Expected Outcomes1. Graduation rate increase of an average of 5% among participating schools2. An increase of at least 10% of enrollment in and college credits earned3. Successful completion of at least 12 credit hours by 50% of students4. Legislative policy changes enacted, as needed, to allow for dual-credit expansion5. At least one partnership between each school and a post-secondary institution/business/industry
