About Jenny Thrasher

My dad’s death drove my need to understand suicide, facing my own journey through mental, physical, and emotional challenges helped me discover wellness, and almost losing my daughter to a mental health crisis taught me that it isn’t enough to just live. We must learn to live a life we love.With over 25 years in mental health and wellness, earning a Psychology degree, extensive research, and learning from specialists worldwide, I developed Thrive Education, a six-pillar program transforming our approach to mental health and suicide prevention. Thrive Education replaces the fear and stigma around suicide with compassion, clarity, and empowerment, equipping individuals with the tools, resources, and insights to not just survive, but to thrive.Thrive Education offers a path to authentic healing, personal empowerment and lasting significance.     We raise funds to donate copies of Growing Through Grief to individuals and organizations in need. There is nothing more isolating than going through a mental health crisis or losing a loved one to suicide. We believe that no one should have to pay to receive support and to know that they are not alone.     Determined to not only save lives, but to improve the lives we’re living.Jenny Thrasher is the founder of Growing Out Of Darkness and All That We Are. As well as being a mom, she is an author, speaker and mental health educator. In addition to healing after losing her dad to suicide, Jenny has effectively navigated her own debilitating challenges as well as helped her adolescent daughter go from suicidal to thriving. For over twenty years Jenny has devoted herself to understanding suicide, discovering various modes of healing, and promoting wellness. She is currently focused on providing a comprehensive and transformative approach to mental health. Her passion to not only inspire, but empower others to live a life they love is evident in everything she does. Jenny is a certified trainer in CALM (Counseling Access to Lethal Means) as well as a member of the Minnesota Suicide Prevention Task Force and the American Association of Suicidology.

    Growing Through Grief is a guide to healthy healing after losing a loved one to suicide. While it was initially intended for survivors of suicide, I would also recommend it to all mental health professionals, as well as professionals, friends, and coworkers who work with or know someone who has lost a loved one to suicide. I believe the content in this book will help others better understand what a survivor of suicide is experiencing and how they can best support that person. At the core, Growing Through Grief is a book focused on healing. The tools provided in this book can be applied to healing and overcoming any form of loss and/or trauma.
