I spent a year working full-time at the IT service desk providing support over email, online chat, on the phone and in person. I learnt how to use various in-house systems to manage user accounts and data, and how to write clear and professional instructional emails for a range of technical ability levels. As well as technical support, I also maintained a stock of hardware for users to borrow, including wiping and rebuilding laptops and tablets.I learnt how to appropriately escalate enquiries when needed and handle service outages that occurred, including writing comprehensive tickets.After my full-time contract ended I was invited to continue working in the department part-time, alongside my studies.
