Executive member of the Union’s Leadership Team. Through my role, I shape and influence the academic and social life for students at Bucks New University in pursuit of the Union’s mission to ‘Make Life Better for Students at Bucks’. As Vice President Education & Welfare I am the representative of students at the University particularly with regards to student education and welfare, as well as a member of the Board of the Trustees of a Charity. A member of the University’s most senior committees and chair of some Students' Union committees including: Representation Management, Programme Feedback Forum and Education Forum.Duties:- Be responsible for improving the educational experience of all students at Bucks - Participate in enhancing the welfare of all students at Bucks - Be the principal course representative and assume political responsibility for the Union’s input into the University’s system of student representation - Hold the university accountable for its promises and delivery of education - Be a trustee of the Union and a part of the Executive Committee - In conjunction with the Advice Centre Lead on Welfare Campaigns- Deliver training including: 'Student Minds Look After Your Mate' and student rep training- Engage with the National Student movement, not only helping to influence the future of Higher Education but enabling others to do so as well. I also engaged in NUS training and development conferences and workshops around the country. - Deliver multiple presentations and speeches to students, staff and externals; including, welcome talks, presenting at conferences and hosting awards dinners.Self-motivation and discipline was an essential key skill to have as a sabbatical officer. It encouraged me to use my creativeness, to come up with new ideas and projects allowing me to implement different initiatives and launch a variety of successful campaigns.

Part-time employment whilst studying, working weekends as part of a small team.Duties included: Till operations, including the switch to a new software and training up new employees.Cleaning - ensuring health & standards were met in the store and all the outback storage cellars. Stock management - maintaining storage units and store displays. Customer service - providing exemplary service to all customers and maintaining the friendly reputation of the business.
