After spending many years messing around with audio editing, I decided to train myself properly in the art of sound editing and production during lockdown. What started as me messing around in my shed has grown in to a professional podcast production company, with a vast portfolio of podcasts I’ve edited under my belt. In 2020, I got to fulfil a childhood dream when I was given an opportunity to be radio presenter at Tring Radio. Tring Radio is a community radio station run by volunteers.During my time at Tring Radio, I developed many skills along the way, including:Becoming a highly skilled radio presenter and general safe pair of hands behind a microphoneSelf production of my shows including show planning, building a playlist and developing dynamic, engaging contentThe ability to edit and produce pre-recorded shows and interviews to a high standardImproved time management skillsCoach, consultant and motivator to other presenters/ volunteersManagement consultancy and adviceI was very fortunate enough to carry out some fascinating interviews with such people as Chris Amoo from The Real Thing, former Sun Royal correspondent Charles Rae, singer/ songwriter Andrea Ramolo and drum n bass legend and yoga expert Goldie.Being a team player at a volunteer led radio station is also key and I would always support any of the other volunteers at the station with encouragement, the production of their shows, along with consultation and training.Overall -a great experience where I met some brilliant people and started my journey as a radio presenter and producer.
