I've spent 15 years personally invested in making our world a better place by unlocking investment in sustainable infrastructure, particularly in clean energy. I have helped facilitate more than $268 Million in clean energy investment, with most projects smaller than $1MM.My current work is focused on expanding on successes in clean energy financing to mobilizing capital to improve clean water, public health and housing for all. I work as a consultant, with clients ranging from nonprofit organizations and public-interest academic centers to financiers and investors.Trained as a craftsman, I approach market-making with the hands-on, practical approach of a potter and a woodworker. My work always begins by understanding the assets and tools in front of us, and an articulation of our shared goal. We then do the creative and interesting work of finding the most efficient pathways to connecting committed capital with well-shaped projects. The work is difficult at times - like anything worth doing - but I am lucky to worth with clients and partners that are courageous, bold and interested in making an impact now, and for the next century.My formal titles have been State Representative; White House task force Chair; CEO; Senior Advisor and Consultant. In each role, I have focused on the intersection of policy, finance, technology and enterprise - doing the difficult work to make untapped market segments ready for investment. At times, this requires on-the-ground work to identify specific community and project risks, identifying risk-mitigation strategies at each turn. Other times, the work requires educating investors on existing policy mechanisms that already bring sufficient security to capital providers ranging from grant makers and impact investors to mainstream financial institutions.Together, we are making money work - for a bright future, and for positive returns for investors, for communities and for the planet.
