I am currently an investment banker in Houlihan Lokey’s leading financial restructuring and special situations advisory practice in Los Angeles, advising on creditor and debtor-side engagements ranging from refinancing transactions to distressed M&A to bankruptcies and broad out-of-court restructurings. Before returning to finance, I had a several-year career in law and policy. I earned my law degree with honors from Harvard Law School in 2022, where I worked for Professor Laurence H. Tribe, was part of the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, helped staff the White House Commission on the Supreme Court, and helped advise senior policymakers on front-page legal and policy issues ranging from Russia sanctions to the debt ceiling crisis. After HLS, I served as a judicial law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. I also practiced corporate law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, focusing mainly on bank regulatory matters, securities investigations, and regulatory counseling. I was the firm’s first associate in its new Washington, D.C. office, working under former senior regulators, and helped represent Goldman Sachs in investigations and inquiries stemming from the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. I also practiced as a litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson, focusing on bet-the-company financial litigation. For example, I helped represent activist fund Politan Cap. in Masimo Corp. v. Politan Cap. Mgmt. LP, No. 8:24-cv-01568 (C.D. Cal. 2024), expedited federal securities litigation related to Politan’s successful proxy contest and board takeover of Masimo. I’m also a frequent commentator on legal and policy issues from geopolitics to financial sanctions, free speech, and technology regulation. My writing has been published in outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Guardian, and cited by Members of Congress, cabinet secretaries and heads of state. I’ve also confidentially advised senior global policymakers—including the U.S. President and senior Congressional leaders—on matters of international law and policy. Prior to law school, I earned my B.A. with high honors in government and economics from Dartmouth College. At Dartmouth, I studied abroad at the University of Oxford’s Said Business School, won prizes for coursework on financial markets, wrote a thesis on post cold-war U.S. China policy, and was awarded the Fowler Family Prize in Democratic Politics. During my summers, I interned at two leading investment banks, where I worked on Mergers & Acquisitions and covered the Telecom, Media, and Technology vertical.
