Under general supervision, performs air traffic services such as the provision of aerodrome control or advisory, approach control, area control, aeronautical fixed and mobile communication, aeronautical information services, pre-flight briefing, and flight following services to ensure a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of traffic to all domestic and international aircraft operations.Duties and Responsibilities• Assess and validate the amended aeronautical data prior to inclusion in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) amendment.• Assess and validate the integrity of aeronautical maps/charts such as the En-route chart (Flight Information Region), Area Chart (Manila and Mactan TMA), Obstacle Chart, Instrument Approach Chart, Standard Instrument Departure Chart, Standard Arrival Chart, Parking/Docking Chart, Aerodrome Ground Movement Chart, and Surveillance Minimum Altitude Chart.• Provide professional assistance to airport development projects relative to ICAO’s publication requirements prior to the commissioning of airports.• Prepare and maintain a central repository of aeronautical data.• Facilitate the exchange of Air Traffic Service (ATS) Message Handling System (AMHS) aeronautical messages between local and international facilities.• Provide communication assistance, through the High Frequency (HF) Ground-to-Ground communication and/or the ATS Message Handling System (AMHS), in the search and rescue operations of lost aircraft and/or aircraft in accident.• Provide access to Aeronautical Information Publications and NOTAMs of other destination countries including those relevant to the intended flight.• Brief pilot on the reported hazards to air navigation, such as but not limited to air turbulence, wind shear, and volcanic activity, gathered from published Notices to Airmen, pilot reports, and post flight briefing.• Provide pilots with weather information prior to the intended flight.
