Past ExperienceOver ten years of commercial real estate finance experienceUpon arrival at Cohen Financial, Jerod worked primarily on non-performing loan workout with both securitized and non-securitized commercial real estate debt instruments. Jerod eventually lead a team of Asset Managers tasked to work out a portfolio purchase of over 1,500 non-performing loans to maximize client return. The workout strategies included foreclosure, REO management and liquidation, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, short sales, discounted payoffs, and loan sales. During this time, his team processed over 300 REO sales.Prior to joining Cohen Financial, Jerod worked at KeyBank Real Estate Capital where he worked on both CMBS and Agency products. While as an Asset Manager – Agency for KeyBank Real Estate Capital, Jerod was charged with oversight of all aspects of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac loans for a variety of multifamily property types, including senior housing. While in this position, Jerod completed financial analyses, transactions, insurance losses, loan modifications and hundreds of property inspections. He monitored at risk assets through watch list, would re-underwrite loans to assess current risk levels for the lender, and negotiated and processed loan modifications.
