The goal was to gain insight into the use of IP and other appropriability mechanisms across the supply chain and identify areas for improvement. Some of the conclusions include:- companies' usage of IP is generally too limited; they can create more value by exploring and exploiting their IP more pro-actively and strategically- complementary assets other than a firm's tech capability are hardly used, let alone explored- small businesses underestimate their chances of success in litigations and as a result are (too) hesitant to patent- licensing conditions of patents from OEM to supplier are often unnecessarily too restrictiveFeel free to contact me for practical tips on IP strategy or for more info on this research. -

For instance, after the economic crisis it became clear that the old business model would soon be unsustainable. Using marketing techniques I initiated a shift from focusing on sales of traditional bicycles towards e-bikes to regain sustainability. Employing part of the kaizen concept and JIT principles, another result was the implementation of weekly staff meetings to continuously improve work atmosphere, productivity and efficiency.

As the chairman of this committee I governed and coordinated this process and reported back to the board. My other activities included external communications, applications for grants and financial management of concerts. In total, I coordinated the organization of 36 concerts of which an exceptionally high percentage (89%) was financially positive.
