My name is Jerome Theobald, and for more than 20 years I have directed the retail lending function at The Dime Bank. My six-member team and I assist customers with just about every kind of loan -- personal, consumer (home equity loans), commercial, mortgage -- you name it. We also do quite a bit of indirect lending for local dealers of automobiles and recreational vehicles. As a manager, I am very one-on-one with my teams. Through the years, I have managed several different kinds of teams, both large and small. Consistent with the overall Dime Bank corporate culture, I maintain an open and engaging environment that encourages mutual collaboration. I want people to enjoy coming to work and to take pride in themselves and the organization. This approach fosters top quality personal service to our customers without being afraid to color outside the lines. If we can make something work, we will. I stress with my people that we are lenders who do more than read the credit report to make a decision. We'll leave that to the big banks. My favorite part of the job -- with anything I do, actually -- is interacting with people every day, most of whom are local residents. We are a service that helps them obtain homes, buy vehicles, and start and expand businesses. I think that's a very good thing. It's rewarding to help a business get started and seeing them become successful and remain in business for decades. We live in a beautiful region in Pennsylvania, and I like to be outside as much as possible. In the winter, I spend a lot of time moving snow, and in the summer I like to boat, kayak, run and go to the gym. Staying in shape is important, because for the past 40 years I have been an active volunteer fireman. I'm the president of our company here and I helped build the new fire station here in town. At work and in my service to the community, I show up with a good attitude and ready to get things done. I'm in LinkedIn to connect more deeply with my community.
