Areas of responsibility encompass day to day oversight for 248 facility operations trades employees providing hard and soft services to the university. Responsible for operations and maintenance of campus facilities including all academic and administrative buildings, utility systems and infrastructure for 80 buildings and 3.7MM square feet. Supervising, directing and evaluating work of assigned staff, developing relationships within the Colleges at Assoc Dean and other administrative levels, building consensus to develop, implement and manage policies and procedures concerning campus facilities, planning and safety issues are core job duties. Created a Facility Operation Vision plan for implementation. Created Access Control policy to coincide with implementing electronic access controls department. Daily oversight of Motor pool, rental fleet office, EVS, Landscaping, Controls/lock shop, all facets of MEP shops. Developed new organizational structure for the facilities group, to implement a systematic career banding proposal, to align work under three work groups: Engineering, Soft Services, and Trades to create an equitable career advancement structure. Identified and built; an internal command center, a mobile priority work order system for tablet integration, a second shift maintenance team to achieve metric driven data points for decision making. Developed and phased in a summer hardscape work plan to restore multiple pedestrian transit areas to safe walking surfaces. Oversaw the development of a Landscape master plan. Participated in the development of a 10-year campus plan for new capital expenditures, infrastructure upgrades and urban planning for future campus growth.
