Engineering manager and site engineering lead at UTAS Power Transmission Systems, Rome, NY. Position included acting as the Chief Engineer with oversight of all engineering procedures, technical papers, and proposals Re-organized the engineering team by moving ineffective managers to individual contributor roles and advancing individual contributors with demonstrated leadership skills to supervisory roles.  Changed the culture that drove large turn-over in the engineering department to one that is more conducive to getting engineers to stay by providing timely promotions and commensurate pay. As engineering site lead was directly responsible for engineering head count for the site. Includes justifying current head count and hiring new engineers. Excellent record of pursuing, and hiring, diverse engineering candidates. Led the development of UTAS Product Introduction system for the site. Leader of innovative teams with an emphasis on innovation and creativity which resulted in the team creating ten Invention Disclosure submittals in 2016 where we had one in 2015.  Demonstrated personal innovation by submitting invention disclosures and supporting patent applications with a personal achievement of ten patents awarded over the past seven years with three patent applications submitted to the USPTO in 2016. Directly responsible for the functional engineering group providing oversight on all aspects of design including approval for all changes to flight safety critical items.

 Primary responsibility for the spray diagnostics group, the experimental machine shop group, research engineers, project managers and new product development engineers.  Oversight of the overall budget, configuration, and maintenance for the research and development facility. Also responsible for ACE (achieving Competitive Excellence) within the facility which achieved ACE bronze status in 2013 and is currently on pace to achieve silver status in 2014.  UTC Aerospace Systems Technology Council representative for Engine Components. Responsible for allocation of internal research funding, monitoring technology spend, and overseeing technology progression meetings for aero nozzles and power transmission systems businesses. Includes extensive work not just developing IP, but also tracking the IP of competitors. Emphasized innovation and creativity in the engineering team which resulted in exceeding our Invention Disclosure submittal goal in 2013 by 144%. Continuous improvement (ACE) champion as demonstrated by leading the UTAS West Des Moines – Delavan Drive team to achieve ACE bronze.
