Jerry Reed is a Vice President and Senior Program Manager at GEI Consultants Inc. He is the former (Retired in August 2021) Director of Engineering at the San Diego County Water Authority. Jerry has over 32 years of experience in program management, design and construction management and was the Water Authority for 26 years. As Director of Engineering, he oversaw work of professional and technical staff working on the design and construction of complex projects to support the region’s water needs. Reed has worked on several water related projects ranging from large diameter pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs. He was the project manager and construction administrator for the Olivenhain Dam and Reservoir project (which was the largest Roller Compacted Concrete Dam built in North America) for the Water Authority and is currently the engineering manager overseeing project management and construction management for the San Vicente Dam Raise project (which is the largest Dam Raise in the world using RCC). Jerry has authored or co-authored several papers presented at ASCE, ASDSO, APWA, and USSD on various aspects for management, design and construction of large complex projects. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts and is a registered civil engineer in California. I am an active member of ASCE, AWWA, CMAA, USSD, and ASDSO.
