Provided Academic Advising for undergraduate students in the Business major in individual and group formats. Advised students from non-Business majors who were pursuing the Business Administration and Economics Minors. Lead new student orientation sessions, academic planning workshops, and advising for Direct Freshman Admission students. Oversaw use of Canvas for delivering academic planning workshops in a remote office environment. Advocated for students with other campus offices (such as Registrar and Admissions) to reach graduation in a timely manner. Collaborated with undergraduate leadership in strategic planning to improve student experience.

Functioned as part of the Academic Advising team to assist students with academic planning for Cascadia’s transfer degrees and eventual matriculation to a baccalaureate institution. Focus on creating and implementing processes, procedures, and interventions to support students experiencing barriers to reaching their highest potential of achievement who were placed on Academic Warning, Academic Probation, or Academic Dismissal status.

Academic Advisor in the School of Business at University of Washington Bothell, responsible for supporting undergraduate students with educational planning and academic success strategies as part of the undergraduate advising team. Knowledgeable about the multiple degree options, concentrations, and minors housed under the School of Business.

Coordinated recruitment efforts with our partner high school (Ingraham) to introduce students to the 13th Year Promise Scholarship at North Seattle College, and provide assistance in successfully completing the application process. Initiated and maintained positive collaborative relationships with partners at NSC and Ingraham to execute all components of the 13th Year Promise Scholarship process with a focus on student success.

Provided academic advising and related services to students on college transfer and career training pathways at North Seattle College. Conducted unofficial transcript evaluations, assisted students in creating Educational Plans, and preparing for post-educational employment or transfer to a University. Developed a peer navigator program to support students in navigating college resources and processes (temporary project).

Lead and worked as part of a team of Case Managers/Advisers who served participants in the Edmonds Career Access Program. The EdCAP advising team assists students as they complete high school diplomas and professional-technical credentials with support and guidance in creating their academic and career plans. As the advising manager, I supported my colleagues in their case managing and advising duties in order to effectively serve our diverse student population.

Taught students how to use the resources and tools available to them at Edmonds Community College in creating their academic plan. Promoted self-efficacy while encouraging students to become a part of their educational community.

Recruited and supported individuals impacted by work layoffs in applying for WIA federal funding to support retraining and job search assistance, often involving labor market research to justify eligibility. Assisted program participants with developing education and re-employment plans, often transitioning between industries and needing support with developing fresh skills to enter new job markets.

Worked with developmentally delayed parents with the goals of: improving parenting skills, maintaining healthy families and safe homes, and achieving self-sufficiency.

Case managed children who were in foster care or CPS-involved. Coordinated mental health services and provided on-going support to the children and their parents to increase their likelihood of success at home, school, and in the community.
