Information Analyst
As a contract employee for BCBSM, I worked on a government mandate project for the CMS ICD-10 Procedure and Diagnosis Codes. The project entails converting approximately 17,000 ICD-9 Codes into 80,000 ICD-10 Codes, which will be used worldwide. I performed analysis on several BCBSM mainframe applications to determine where remediation was necessary to expand Procedure and Diagnosis codes to ensure ICD-10 compliancy. I created requirement tractability metrics to capture all high-level requirements, which I gathered between the business and technical teams. In addition, I managed and lead meetings with the business users, base support teams, developers and the testing team to ensure an open dialog regarding ICD-10 remediation as it affects several applications throughout the corporation. Worked with certified coders to understand the mapping process between ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes. I was a team player in building the SharePoint dashboard. I managed and organized the ICD-10 documentation site in SharePoint, and created milestone reports to accurately reflect project progress. In addition, I worked with the procurement team to ensure all documentation was reflected correctly to allow them to release payment. I participated in weekly status meetings, communicating the progress of the milestones in addition to any outstanding items and solutions that were or needed to be resolved.
