As a contract employee for BCBSM, I worked on a government mandate project for the CMS ICD-10 Procedure and Diagnosis Codes. The project entails converting approximately 17,000 ICD-9 Codes into 80,000 ICD-10 Codes, which will be used worldwide. I performed analysis on several BCBSM mainframe applications to determine where remediation was necessary to expand Procedure and Diagnosis codes to ensure ICD-10 compliancy. I created requirement tractability metrics to capture all high-level requirements, which I gathered between the business and technical teams. In addition, I managed and lead meetings with the business users, base support teams, developers and the testing team to ensure an open dialog regarding ICD-10 remediation as it affects several applications throughout the corporation. Worked with certified coders to understand the mapping process between ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes. I was a team player in building the SharePoint dashboard. I managed and organized the ICD-10 documentation site in SharePoint, and created milestone reports to accurately reflect project progress. In addition, I worked with the procurement team to ensure all documentation was reflected correctly to allow them to release payment. I participated in weekly status meetings, communicating the progress of the milestones in addition to any outstanding items and solutions that were or needed to be resolved.

Responsible for mentoring several “best shore” resources, ensuring success in their ability to become a valued resource to the corporation and to the client. Ensured that all standards were executed, audit and contractual requirements were met, and all customer requests were properly represented in client meetings. Other responsibilities included moving all configuration items successfully during implementations, including all midrange and mainframe programs and application documentation. Successfully administered print functionality to all manufacturing locations pertaining to price labels and insuring accurate data. Highly involved in yearly Application Disaster Recovery Exercises for Mainframe and Midrange environments. Executed daily cycles within a midrange environment using SQL scripts within an Oracle database. Maintained Application Disaster Recovery Plans (ADRP) for both mainframe and Oracle based applications, performing UAT. Executed daily SQL scripts within the midrange application to process daily cycles. Additional responsibilities included primary on-call duty, monitoring mainframe and server applications, monitoring service support desk, and executing customer requests consisting of password resets, ad hoc reports, inquiries and general system questions.

Maintained the Eligibility/Membership system called OLIVIA within the GM environment. Responsibilities included monitoring the daily COBOL Batch Cycle, developed customer requirements, perform analysis, create tech designs, perform unit and system testing, and create closedown documentation. Enhancements made within the mainframe environment included JCL updates, COBOL, WAAPDSUT, and Easytrieve program changes. Also supported and maintained the Healthcare Decision Support System (HCDSS) which involved uploading GM Claims into an Impromptu Database for clients to execute queries; provide claim/statistical and rate information through adhoc reporting. Responsible for balancing system output to the Healthcare Carriers for both the Carrier Data Feed (CDF) and HCDSS systems and successfully updated all JCL/Programs to reflect the required changes for the NASCO/BCBS migration project.

Troubleshot user concerns pertaining to the Tandem platform system, created and maintained system documentation, including batch information and system checklists, worked with Systems Engineers to install new system implementations, maintained GM dealer information by updating tables used in the GMNET transmission tool; and effectively used SOCS as the Configuration Management tool to move programs into production and Net-Batch Plus to update and add new jobs into the system.
