As a Co-founder and Communications Director, I developed and oversaw the communications and marketing strategy. That included the creation and maintenance of the FoodCorps' brand; developing the strategy for communicating with all of the organization's audiences—from potential corps members to donors to alumni— across all channels. As the head of a small but mighty and productive team, I was required to wear many hats including: Chief storyteller: Crafting messaging and working with staff and our AmeriCorps leaders to be effective communicators in their communities, sharing their experiences and impact through the written and spoken word. Project manager: Leading FoodCorps' brand refresh and a website redesign in 2015. Working with outside designers, photographers and film teams on materials creation including Annual Reports, Fundraising materials, and videos.PR manager: Pitching stories and working with media and local organizational partners on articles and TV segments.Email marketer/campaigner: Setting the strategy, coordinating, and often writing content for FoodCorps' email program, including advocacy and online fundraising campaigns.Website strategist and manager: Setting the strategy for continuous improvement, and overseeing content management.Social media guru: Setting the strategy and overseeing the execution of a coordinated/integrated social media program across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.
