Thomson Screening Solutions' SchoolScreener product (www.schoolscreener.com) provides software to help the screening of vision, hearing, and other development measures in children. The system is in widespread use with the NHS and schools around the world screening many hundreds of thousands of children each year.I devised and managed the delivery of a technical strategy to move the company’s offering from a disparate range of legacy technologies from multiple suppliers to a single configurable Software as a Service (SaaS) product. The new architecture and systems were delivered on time and on budget. I continued to provide support as the software and company developed and matured.

Miotify (www.miotify.co.uk) has built the world’s first software tool kit specifically designed to simplify the process of transforming connected clinical data into actionable clinical information. Combining code free IoT automation tools with design control processes to enable access to the regulated medical market. The company received Innovate UK funding in late 2017 to design, build and implement a regulatorily compliant working product. As the Senior Technical Advisor, I worked with the CTO to (successfully) deliver the technical side of the delivery of this ambitious project.

A spin out from Oxford University, Dynamic Consent ensures that consent given is in the continued control of the user and that that consent is truly informed for as long as it is provided.Working with the academic team behind the concept of Dynamic Consent, I was responsible for moving the concept towards commercial viability and a ‘spin out’. Having successfully developed the initial product and trialled it in a clinical study, it was decided to pursue opportunities within the academic environment: the spin out project was suspended at the end of 2016.

The flagship product - Konetic Recruit - is an enterprise grade product providing high levels of configurability, resilience, scalability, and security processing around 500,000 job applications a year, Headline users include the UK medical recruitment sector (Royal Colleges of GPs, Physicians, Psychiatrists, Paediatrics and Child Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology; and Health Education England), Deutsche Bank; and Slaughter and May.As FD, managed the finances of the company for 8 years, guiding sustainable and organic growth leading to a tripling of revenues in this period.As co-founder, was responsible for nurturing, trouble-shooting, crisis managing, strategizing, exhorting and generally overseeing the growth of the company to a solid position in its market niche.
