My personal and professional interest lies in motivating and enabling potential in people, innovations and ideas that arise at all levels and in all functions of an organisation.Strategic project manager in R&D and innovation: managing large projects in cross-cultural, multi-national matrix organizations. The projects have been varied, ranging from systems biology-based approaches, in close collaboration with food chemists, analytical chemistry professionals, university collaborators and CROs specializing in metabolomic profiling, to inventing, developing and proving a novel synthetic DNA manufacturing platform to significantly decrease cost and labour requirements and making DNA affordable in the personalized medicine space. As project leader and working external collaborators I am very comfortable with targeted communication strategies to optimize efficiency and set direction.Team leader: for both scientists and technicians in matrix organizations and therefore comfortable with complex team structures. As team leader I increased production of core deliveries more than 25-fold for one group, while allowing for a reduction in manpower, by devising, executing and overseeing development of high throughput, semi-automation and additional molecular biology methods. This included delivery of a new, purpose built, IT solution for tracking and sharing progress of core deliverables while greatly expanding the functionality of this tool.Laboratory manager: responsible for bringing together multiple independently running laboratories and animal facilities under one roof and ensuring regulatory compliance (GMO, BSL2 and animal studies), as well as day-to-day running of a modern research facility.I love being challenged and finding solutions, whether there are strict limitations on resources or the sky is limit. I am very good at abstract thinking and quick to pick up new concepts and incorporate them into my planning and thinking.
